Este pequeño cómic fue realizado durante el taller de la ilustradora francesa Nine Antico.  El fin del ejercicio era presentar 3 etapas de nuestra vida a través de cortes de cabello.

This time Héléna form the film

Fred: Why do I love you?
Héléna: Because I'm an amazing woman.
Fred: Why don't you love me?
Héléna: Because I don't have the guts.
Fred: Are you lazy?
Héléna: Terribly.
Fred: Who does the cooking at your house?
Héléna: The cook.
Fred: And the housework?
Héléna: The housekeeper.
Fred: And the lovemaking?

Postage Stamp // Timbre Postal

This year, the Mexican Postal Service issued an special postage stamp commemorating the Day of the Dead. 

One of my illustrations was picked to be the design of the stamp from a mail art exhibit organized by the philatelic museum: MUFI Oaxaca. 

The special ceremony of cancellation was held in Oaxaca on November 14th, 2014 and I was lucky enough to be invited to give a brief talk and present the stamp. 

I highly recommend doing mail art and sending post cards. They are always fun to receive.

Este año el Servicio Postal Mexicano emitió una estampilla conmemorativa especial del Día de Muertos. 

Una de mis ilustraciones fue la elegida para dicha emisión y todo gracias a la exposición del Buzón de la Calaca, una convocatoria de arte correo llevada acabo por el Museo de la Filatelia Oaxaca (MUFI).

La ceremonia de cancelación especial se realizó en la ciudad de Oaxaca el pasado 14 de Noviembre de 2014 y fui invitada a dar una breve plática y presentar la estampilla en el museo. 

Les recomiendo enviar postales y hacer arte correo, es una actividad muy divertida.

Inca Stars : The Llama's Constellation

From the Peruvian folk tale: 

Urcuchillay – the Llama:

Perhaps the most important of the constellations to the Inca.
Llamas were of great importance to the Inca: they were food, beasts of burden and sacrifices to the gods. These sacrifices often took place at certain times with astronomical significance such as equinoxes and solstices. Llama herders were particularly attentive to the movements of the celestial llama and offered it sacrifices.

Irradiando luz

Not too long ago, mexican artist Argeo came to San Francisco and did a mural in the Mission District. 

As murals, graffitti, wet pasting posters can be ephemeral art and easy target for taggers this one was no exception... 

My friend Piojos Inc. asked me to cover the tag and I did so...

Here are some flowers radiating light and a pounding heart, the pounding heart of the Mission...
